MyTomFoster and Famous People

This section is dedicated to those people who inspired me throughout the years. It began with Ernie Banks. Growing up in Mesa, AZ, I loved going to Spring Training where the "home team" was the Chicago Cubs at Rendezvous Park. Players were accessible and accommodating to fans. I had my mom take this photo which I cherish most of all.

Ernie Banks, Mr. Cub,  played first base and shortstop. He was a Gold Glove and Lou Gehrig award winner as well as a 2-time National League MVP and multiple NL All-Star selection. He entered the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1977.

I saw Mr. Cub later in his life and showed him the photo. He leaned over to his former teammate, Cy Young winner and Hall of Fame inductee, Ferguson Jenkins, and they both shared a huge laughed at how young he looked.
