It was a cool day for 93 degrees. Apple Store number 200 opened its doors at 6:00 PM and I was in line with nerds and nerd-wannabes with their iBooks, iPhones, iPods and me with an iBerger from Gordon Birsch across the street.Apple kept the opening a semi-secret for a while and I didn't know until about a week before. I figured I would go down around 4:30 and see if there was a line only to find out that there was only about 39 people ahead of me! Rumors floated that they were giving away two t-shirts to the first 500 people to celebrate the San Tan opening and the release of Leopard, Apple's new OS. For me, both were a celebration and the t-shirts were icing on the technology cake.
Here's a photo from http://www.ifoapplestore.com/ I'm in the line somewhere.

What a pleasure to meet Rod Argent, keyboardist, singer and song writer for The Zombies and Argent. We share a laugh about an old Zombies photo at the Hippiefest in Phoenix.
In the background is Joey Mulland from Badfinger.
Also in the room was Colin Blunstone, lead singer of The Zombies. Colin still has an incredible voice and is such a generous person.

Former Moody Blues singer (Go Now) and member of Paul McCartney's group Wings for ten years, Denny Laine poses with Valerie.
That's Country Joe McDonald in the Peace sign hat and tie-die "Make Love Not War" t-shirt. Read more about Denny Laine here.

Had the pleasure of attending a 60s flashback concert this weekend with lots of rock music in the air. One of my favorites at the meet & greet was Country Joe McDonald from Country Joe and the Fish.
Joe has been making very interesting history in the world of folk and rock music for decades and was very accommodating. Visit and be amazed at his web site at Country Joe's Place.

I was visiting Nate in San Diego this weekend since he had a business trip and needed company from one or both parental units. We had a great time, of course, but the highlight was the baseball game. Nate is a die-hard Yankees fan so the fact that the Padres were playing the current world champions Boston Red Sox was attractive to him and intriguing to me. We scored face-value tickets to the upper deck and had great seats with an unobstructed view of the field. The game had lots to occupy the sold-out crowd. There were two reversals of umpire calls, the second of which precipitated an ejection of Boston’s manager. Speaking of ejections, a BoSox fan behind us was eventually thrown out for dropping the F-bomb too many times in the family friendly confines of Petco Park.Much to Nate’s happiness and every Boston fan's dismay, the Padres won 6-1. Nate had fun taunting the Boston fans pretending he was a Padres fan.
